Last Moment
04:18
|

Tick tock
Goes the beating of life's clock
Pitter-pat
Goes the drum inside your chest
Two eyes
And a furrowed brow
Bitter taste
Living on your tongue
This is your last moment
And have you really lived?
This is your last moment
And no one's granting
Your last dying wish
Lies, lies
Fill even your last breath
Obsessed with
Matters irrelevant
Holding on to possessions you can't give
They'll soon die
With the will you left unread
This is your last moment
And have you really lived?
This is your last moment
And no one's granting
Your last dying wish

Facade
03:13
|
|||
I want to see the past, and let it go
Thrown off track, and off the road
Out of breath, not out of time
As I wander from between the lines
My roots can't grow if I don't slow the beat
My fear of living incomplete
The ground drops out beneath my feet
Think of settling
And reignite the fading dream
In a moment of uncertainty
Something dead inside of me
Rewrites a sickness time won't heal
Cured by love that's only real
My roots can't grow if I don't slow the beat
My fear of living incomplete
The ground drops out beneath my feet
Think of settling
And reignite the fading dream
I can't see
I can't breathe
I can't see
I can't breathe
I can't see
I can't breathe
I can't see
I can't breathe

Elsewhere

Where does it hurt, my dear
Is it through and through?
Can you hear my voice
Does it no longer reach you?
Tell us, can you see the moon?
Can you touch the light beyond me and you?
Are you scared?
Do you hear what they say?
Whisper anything
Blink if you know my name
Restless you are, I see you shake
Forever I'll feel alone in this place
Do you have the answers
Everyone seeks
Now that you've seen
The other side of suffering
You scream out, I haven't done enough
I know, I always feel that in my gut
Your soul collides,
With the stars in space
When I fly that high,
Will you save a place?
Oh to be near you again
Tell me what you'd do if you start again?

Out of Sync
03:29
|
|||
It's been a month, it's been a year
Picking up the pieces
Setting off into the fog
Changing of the seasons
Where we left off, a question mark
Never know the reason
Now the time's come to embark
Out into the breezes
And I need to pick back up the
Pieces left, scattered on the floor
And I will assemble them into
A portrait of the time we had before
My hindsight sees right through the
Clouds into the sunlight on our hands
But now it's you that's gone just
Washed away like footprints in the sand
I see you sleeping through the mirror
You're out of sync inside my mind
What I wouldn't give to hear
Your melody in a rewind
I watch your breath, go fill the night
We take a step, into the cold
Ripped apart to spread the light
Stories forced to stay untold
And I need to pick back up the
Pieces left, scattered on the floor
And I will assemble them into
A portrait of the time we had before
My hindsight sees right through the
Clouds into the sunlight on our hands
But now it's you that's gone just
Washed away like footprints in the sand

Memories of excess
Ashes falling in the amber
Prevents our growth and fills the gaps that rot
Our engines all are flooded
From shutting out the world we once had
Tied off from us now into a clot
I don't believe in life here
We open up our windows
All the water rushes in and fills our heart
A room outside of time where
We can reconvene
Meet to talk again and hit restart
Life in the rear-view
Singing along
Quote the familiar
Ignoring the wrong
You're underwater
I'm on the moon
Dream of you often
Talk to you soon
Atrophy in exhale
Pull the day apart
The distant clock runs out of order for us both
Lost within the detail
Your bones break back in place
The bitter taste of water poisoning the growth
To put it all in sequence
Time we've spent away, but still I hear your echo
Form within the sound
Falling from the atmosphere, I reach out for you
Live like this to long and you will drown
Life in the rear-view
Singing along
Quote the familiar
Ignoring the wrong
You're underwater
I'm on the moon
Dream of you often
Talk to you soon

I don't want to ruin this night
Cause you say I tend to
With my over-eager eyes
You'd never believe the thoughts I have
You think I'm too scared to leave
Well I packed my things tonight
You go east and I'll go west
Then we'll never meet again
You go east and I'll go west
No obligation to be friends
What about me has lost its spark?
Is it the lines underneath my eyes?
Is it the way I stay up all night
While you sleep where I once occupied?
Can you feel me tonight?
You haven't reached me in awhile
You go east and I'll go west
Then we'll never meet again
You go east and I'll go west
No obligation to be friends
You always think that it's a crime
It's just time that I need
Whether or not you're here tonight
I'll still be around when you leave
I don't want to ruin this night
But I let my words escape
Maybe it's better when you're blind
To how I feel when I wake
You go east and I'll go west
Then we'll never meet again
You go east and I'll go west
But there's always an obligation

Fritz & Simone
Fritz & Simone are the pseudonyms of two friends who met while working on a film set in Dayton, Ohio. They approach songwriting from a multi-sensory perspective that pulls from their film background, and extends to how they design their visuals. This year they released their second album which was produced while working in a hardware store and animal shelter. ... more
